![]() In addition to cleaning all the areas you can't clean at home-such as the pockets below your gum line-we are able to do other things for you, such as screening you for developing oral cancer and checking your teeth for signs of uneven or excessive wear. But, you should not necessarily limit your visit to our office to your routine cleaning appointment. There are a few situations that warrant an extra trip to come see us. Here is more information. An Aching ToothIf one of your teeth begins to cause you some discomfort, there is no reason for you to wait until your next routine visit to have us take a look. In fact, waiting can cause you significant problems down the road, as it can mean the tooth has suffered more damage before we are able to take a look at it. If a tooth begins to ache, or if it suddenly becomes overly sensitive to cold or hot foods or beverages, come see us right away so we can take a look. It may be nothing-or it may be something. In either case, you'll rest better knowing that the matter has been investigated. Headaches or Ringing in the EarsSometimes, as time passes, your bite pattern can begin to change. This could be due to something such as a developing disorder in your TMJ joint, or some other reason. Whatever is going on, you need to come see us if you start having unexplained headaches, aching in the jaw joint, or even ringing in your ears. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at (949) 574-0100 today. |
