![]() Dental Bonding for Cavity PreventionIf you are repeatedly going into the dentist for your regular checkups and showing signs of gum disease and/or cavities in hard to reach places. Dental bonding will help. It allows for certain problem areas to be sealed off from bacteria and acid. Usually, best for areas that you aren't able to reach with a toothbrush and gets the floss stuck or cuts it. It can protect areas down between crooked teeth or small spaces is the rear between molars. How the Dental Procedure WorksThe problem area is cleaned and all tartar and plaque is removed. The surrounding teeth are prepped with a coating that will allow the bonding material to stick. Then a tooth-colored material is applied, it's the same material applied for filling a cavity. It's a clay-like material which allows for it to be molded while in your mouth. Once set, an ultraviolet hardens it in place. The procedure is straightforward, simple, and can be done in one visit. If you practice good oral care and still have some areas that cause you grief, ask our dentist when you are here next, to take a look and see if the procedure would help. If you aren't a patient and have questions or would like to schedule an appointment, give us a call today. We would be happy to help. |
